Athletics Otago Squad Development Day
The Athletics Otago Squad Development days are for Grade 12, 13 and 14 athletes and will be run over two Sundays (from 9:30am until 3:00pm each day).
It is hoped that by encouraging the athletes in the sport as a group and to provide them with chances to succeed through extended coaching in the current Children's events and leading them into Senior events.
The first day will be on Sunday 13th October, focusing on Sprints, Jumps (High and Long), Throws (Discus and Shot Put), Short Hurdles, Race Walks and Middle Distance.
The second day will be on the Sunday 24th November, focusing on Senior events such as Hammer, Javelin, Pole Vault, Triple Jump, Steeplechase and Long Hurdles.
The days will have coaching sessions available for each athlete in their groups to rotate around. We also will be trying to incorporate some larger group workshops targeted at Grade 12, 13 & 14 as well.
