Athlete Within The Person - Anxiety and Youth Sports
About this Event
Youth sports in America have become a multi-million-dollar industry. They are popular for building community, teaching character, and helping some students pay for college. As parents see more value in youth sports, the pressure has increased, raising concerns about young people’s well-being, especially around anxiety.
Anxiety can make young athletes afraid of making mistakes, put stress on their relationships with parents, hurt their performance, and even lead to burnout.
At Legacy, we are committed to giving people the chance to engage in sports. We believe it’s our responsibility to educate our community about the negative sides of sports, support those who are struggling, and offer real solutions so that sports can help athletes, coaches, and parents grow.
In this session of “Athlete within the Person,” we’ll explore what causes anxiety in athletes, how it affects them, and practical ways to keep sports fun and transformative.
