Το χειμερινό meeting της ακραίας μουσικής στη χώρα μας επιστρέφει!
Το ATHENS EXTREME FESTIVA , στην 5η του έκδοση (Vol.5), θα λάβει χώρα στο ιστορικό Κύτταρο Live Stage, το Σαββατοκύριακο 9 και 10 Ιανουαρίου 2027.
Το Σάββατο, η γιορτή θα ξεκινήσει με την πρώτη μπάντα από την άλλη πλευρά του Ατλαντικού που θα εμφανιστεί ποτέ στο φεστιβάλ, τους Malicious Torment. Το συγκρότημα αποτελεί το προσωπικό σχήμα της Krystle Kolozie (aka KK), οι οποίοι με το περσινό debut E.P. “Realms of the Occult” κατάφεραν να τραβήξουν το ενδιαφέρον αρκετών οπαδών του είδους.
Η συνέχεια ανήκει στους Detestial, μία all-star μπάντα της ελληνικής σκηνής, με νυν και πρώην μέλη από συγκροτήματα όπως οι Resurgency, Necrohell, Acrotheism κ.ά. Ο μοναδικός μέχρι σήμερα δίσκος τους, “Conjuring the Age of Mayhem”, αποθεώθηκε, δημιουργώντας μεγάλες προσδοκίες για μία δυναμική εμφάνιση.
Οι Cryptosis δεν είναι μία τυχαία περίπτωση μπάντας. Το sci-fi thrash metal των Ολλανδών είναι σχεδόν μοναδικό, καθώς λίγες μπάντες μπορούν να κινηθούν σε αυτόν τον ήχο και ακόμη λιγότερες το καταφέρνουν τόσο καλά. Επιστρέφουν στην Ελλάδα μετά από πέντε χρόνια.
Η συνέχεια έχει μία από τις κορυφαίες ελληνικές death metal μπάντες, τους Θεσσαλονικείς Mass Infection. Το συγκρότημα αναμένεται να κυκλοφορήσει νέο δίσκο μέσα στο 2026 και θα έχουμε την ευκαιρία να απολαύσουμε τόσο νέο όσο και παλαιότερο, κλασικό υλικό από μία από τις σημαντικότερες μπάντες της ελληνικής σκηνής.
Δώδεκα χρόνια πέρασαν από την τελευταία φορά που οι μεγάλοι του είδους Grave πάτησαν το πόδι τους στη χώρα μας. Αυτή η αναμονή τελειώνει και οι Σουηδοί επιστρέφουν με ένα exclusive show, παρουσιάζοντας υλικό από την πρώτη περίοδο της μπάντας, από τα χρόνια ακόμη των Corpse, όπως ονομαζόταν το συγκρότημα στα πρώτα του βήματα.
Η δεύτερη μέρα ξεκινά με τους Αθηναίους Sons of Hades, άλλη μία all-star ελληνική underground μπάντα, με μέλη μεταξύ άλλων από τους Chainsaw, Demolition Train, Nightbreed κ.ά. Πέρσι κυκλοφόρησαν το ντεμπούτο τους, τιμώντας όλα όσα αγαπήσαμε στα πρώιμα χρόνια του black/thrash.
Το ανίερο κτήνος που ονομάζεται Necrochakal θα ακολουθήσει. Υπακούοντας δεσποτικά σε όλα τα clichés που αγαπήσαμε σε μπάντες όπως οι Sarcófago και οι πρώιμοι Bathory, το συγκρότημα εγγυάται ένα απολαυστικό live.
Οι Πολωνοί Sexmag, στην πρώτη τους εμφάνιση στη χώρα μας, αναμένεται να μας απογειώσουν με το horror black/thrash τους, το οποίο αποδίδεται εξ ολοκλήρου στη μητρική τους γλώσσα. Για οπαδούς των Kat, Bulldozer και Sextrash. Έπος!
Όσοι δεν έχουν δει τους Βέλγους Butcher ζωντανά, καλό θα ήταν να έχουν ασφάλεια ζωής. Όσοι πάλι τους έχουν δει, ξέρουν. Και δεν πρόκειται να λείψουν.
Μία από τις δυναμικότερες μπάντες επί σκηνής αυτή την στιγμή στη μουσική μας έρχονται στο Athens Extreme με άγριες διαθέσεις.
Οι headliners της Κυριακής θα είναι οι αδιαμφισβήτητοι ηγέτες του βρετανικού thrash metal, Onslaught. Μία τεράστια μπάντα με αντίστοιχη δισκογραφία σε ένα set αφιερωμένο στα δύο μαγικά πρώτα album “Power from Hell” και “The Force”. 15 Χρόνια αναμονής θα καλυφθούν με τον καλύτερο τρόπο!

The winter gathering of extreme music in our country is back! ATHENS EXTREME FESTIVAL, now in its 5th edition (Vol. 5), will take place at the historic Kyttaro Live Club on Saturday and Sunday, January 9–10, 2027.
On Saturday, the celebration will kick off with the first band from across the Atlantic ever to appear at the festival: Malicious Torment. The band is the personal project of Krystle Kolozie (aka KK), who managed to attract the attention of a number of genre fans with last year’s debut EP, “Realms of the Occult.”
Next up are Detestial, an all-star band of the Greek scene, featuring current and former members of bands such as Resurgency, Necrohell, Acrotheism, and more. Their only album to date, “Conjuring the Age of Mayhem,” received widespread acclaim, raising high expectations for a powerful live performance.
Cryptosis are by no means an ordinary band. The Dutch outfit’s sci-fi thrash metal is almost unique, as very few bands can operate within this sound, and even fewer manage to do it so well. They return to Greece after five years.
Next comes one of Greece’s leading death metal bands, Thessaloniki-based Mass Infection. The band is expected to release a new album during 2026, giving us the opportunity to enjoy both new and older classic material from one of the most important bands in the Greek scene.
Twelve years have passed since the legendary Grave last set foot in our country. That wait is finally over, as the Swedish giants return for an exclusive show, presenting material from the band’s early era, including songs from the days when they were still known as Corpse, during their very first steps.
The second day kicks off with Athens-based Sons of Hades, another all-star Greek underground band, featuring members from Chainsaw, Demolition Train, Nightbreed, and more. Last year, they released their debut, paying tribute to everything we loved about the early days of black/thrash.
The unholy beast known as Necrochakal will follow. Bowing relentlessly to all the clichés we loved in bands such as Sarcófago and early Bathory, the band guarantees an utterly enjoyable live show.
Poland’s Sexmag, making their first appearance in our country, are expected to blow us away with their horror black/thrash, performed entirely in their native language. For fans of Kat, Bulldozer, and Sextrash. Epic!
Those who haven’t seen Belgium’s Butcher live would be well advised to have life insurance. Those who have seen them already know. And they certainly won’t be missing this one.
One of the most explosive live bands in our scene right now is coming to Athens Extreme with wild intentions.
Sunday’s headliners will be the undisputed leaders of British thrash metal, Onslaught. A legendary band with an equally legendary discography, delivering a set dedicated to their first two magical albums, “Power from Hell” and “The Force.” Fifteen years of waiting will be rewarded in the best possible way!
