Dear Senseis,Dear Friends and fellow kobudokas,
We will be happy to welcome you in Athens, Greece to spend 3 days training Shimbukan Ryu Kyu Kobudo and Mukenkai Karate with one of the world's most known Senseis, Kaicho Hiroshi Akamine and having a good time with other members of Shimbukan family around the globe.
Kaicho Hiroshi Akamine was born in Tomigusuku, Okinawa, Japan in 1954, the 4th son of the world known Karate and Kobudo instructor Akamine Eisuke. At the age of 6 he began his study of karate under the tutelage of his father. As a middle school student, he also began training in earnest under the guidance of Gushiken Hiroshi Sensei of the Shorin Ryu Kyudo Kan Dojo. He concurrently was training Kobudo with his father. After his father’s passing in 1999 he succeeded him as the 3rd President of the Ryukyu Kobudo Hozon Shinko Kai. In July of 2011, after serving as the President for 12 years and working diligently to preserve and promote Ryukyu Kobudo in Japan and across the world, he founded the Ryukyu Kobudo Shimbukan, based on the teachings established by his father at the Shimbukan Dojo, with new aspirations to further bring the art to a new generation of practitioners. He concurrently assumed duties as the President of the Okinawa Shorin Ryu Mukenkai Association that had been established by Gushiken Hiroshi Sensei. He currently has Karate and Kobudo students in branch dojos around the world with over 50 official branch dojo and training groups
