This meeting is full, but you can join the waitlist by emailing [email protected]. The Tea Time Book Club meets once a month on the third Thursday at 6 p.m. Each time we meet, we’ll enjoy tea and take some time to catch up and get to know each other. We’ll discuss the book of the month and everyone will have an opportunity to recommend a book for the group to vote on for upcoming months.
The October 15 title is The First Witch of Boston by Andrea Catalano. A gripping and intimate novel based on the true story of Margaret Jones, the first woman to be found guilty of witchcraft in seventeenth-century Massachusetts.
“Catalano’s character and world-building ably bring to life an era fueled by superstition, repression, and intolerance…I can see this book appealing to the many fans of Ariel Lawhon’s The Frozen River and Chris Bohjalian’s Hour of the Witch, and eagerly look forward to reading whatever Catalano writes next.” ―Historical Novels Review
“A sumptuous and heartrending tale of the dark power of fear, loss, and love against all odds, The First Witch of Boston is a moving and accomplished debut.” ―Heather Webb, USA Today bestselling author of Queens of London
