How does gas form into stars in the center of our Milky Way? How can we best experience and preserve dark skies in an age of light? Join us at 7:30PM PDT, Monday, June 15th for a very special Astronomy on Tap to discuss these questions. Tonight will be our 150th Astronomy on Tap, happening on our 10th year anniversary! It also kicks off our City of Astronomy events here in Pasadena and features visiting scientists from around the world in town for the American Astronomical Society's semi-annual meeting in Pasadena. This Astronomy on Tap will be one of three happening this week for the City of Astronomy, so stay tuned! We'll host two ~20 minute talks, Q&A, and then follow it up with interactive, astronomical pub trivia, and guided stargazing with telescopes, all free and open to the public!
Astronomy on Tap is a worldwide phenomenon where scientists take over local bars to discuss their research in 20-minute informal talks over beers. We host events at an outdoor space at the Dog Haus Biergarten in Old Town Pasadena. Event is totally free and open to all (including minors), no reservations necessary.
