Astronomy Night

Dumfries Museum started its life as a windmill before being converted to an observatory in 1835 by the Dumfries and Maxwelltown Astronomical Society. Come along to stargaze at the museum and explore our region’s connections with astronomy.
Weather permitting, there will be telescopes and binoculars available to use outside along with experts from Dumfries Astronomy Club to assist with technical aspects and identification. Inside there will be talks, tours and displays as well as teas and coffees (donations welcome).
Free, suitable for all ages, no need to book.
