Astral Evening with Kinship X Toast

CELEBRATE LIONSGATE WITH KINSHIP X TOAST

Unlock the (lion’s) gate with manifestation and relaxation at an astral evening with Kinship and Toast. This evening program aims to align with your truth and set your intention for the year ahead through spell jar creation, relaxing yoga and a sound bath. All attendees will receive a gift bag (Valued at: $50+), including explanation guide on the lionsgate and similar lunar meanings, crystals, spell candles, palo santo and more.

Upon arrival, all attendees will be given a charcuterie box (read: girl dinner) to snack on. Once dinner is finished, we will commence with a workshop with spell jar creation (materials provided). Following a brief break to flip the room, you'll grab space for your mat and we will proceed with the yoga + sound bath hosted by our partners.

WHAT IS A LIONSGATE?

The Lion's Gate Portal is like a cosmic holiday, occurring every year when a certain alignment happens in the sky. The Lion's Gate Portal marks the alignment of the sun in Leo, the star Sirius (the brightest star in the night sky), the constellation Orion's Belt and the Earth. The portal is “open” between July 26 and August 12. However, its powers are most potent on August 8, which is known by some as the Galactic New Year.

The significance of the date (August 8, or 8/8) shouldn’t be overlooked. Within numerology — in which individual digits are imbued with meanings — the number eight means wealth, luck, and good vibes. Plus, when turned sideways, eight represents the symbol for infinity. It represents abundance, which might relate to what you’re manifesting.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Dress comfortably and bring a blanket or cushion to sit on during the event, we'll do our best to create a cozy atmosphere. We'll be providing grazing boxes and tea all evening. We encourage you to arrive a few minutes early to secure a good spot.

WHO WE ARE

Kinship was created by a group of women (Bretton G, Kate M, and Michaela B - BKM) wanting to bring connection and community together in Calgary. We aim to create an environment to connect, move and grow blending together movement, learning, and great food in events that foster opportunities to create safe spaces to organically connect withother people.

With a collective experience of over 40 years in the event management industry, we are looking to partner with key brands and groups that align with our goals to create a community that comes together over movement, wellness and self-care.

Toast

Toast confronts the systems plaguing women+ in the tech industry - from the persistent gender pay gap to the isolating 'lonely only' experience, and the glaring absence of opportunities to lead and receive mentorship and sponsorship.

Co-founded by April Hicke and Marissa McNeelands in 2022, Toast was born out of a genuine need to diversify technical teams. Both Marissa and April faced experiences where they lacked support and mentorship in the workplace.

Toast aims to help both organizations and women in tech. They specialize in tech recruitment and help companies diversify their technical teams . They also help women in tech thrive in their roles through our membership collective.
