When you think of astrology, most people think of the signs and planets working together to explain something about your life. But that’s not where the story ends—not by a long shot. There are thousands of asteroids that can also be pulled into your birth chart, which can add their own archetypal stories and energies to your chart. Most are based in the mythologies of different cultures from around the world.Professional Astrologers Lori Kaufman and John Selig have studied mythology extensively, and are excited to bring this workshop that will take your astrology knowledge much deeper—helping you to find your personal story in the stars.
The mythic asteroids work differently from the planets in an astrology chart, but they can still be very important to your life! They can provide more specific insights into the chart, that sometimes even the planets can miss. This workshop is a deep dive into these lesser known astrological bodies, and how their stories and myths can light up your chart in new and powerful ways.
This workshop will focus mostly on key points like Lilith (our shadow), Ceres (the nurturing mother), Pallas (the strategic warrior), Juno (the archetypal partner), Vesta (our spiritual flame and devotion), and Chiron (the wounded healer), and how to understand them in your chart! Through their stories and chart examples, we’ll find these myths in our own lives. We will also answer questions about the science behind the asteroids, and the technical aspects of reading them in a chart.
Some general knowledge of Astrology is preferred, but not required, as these stories can teach you even if you don’t fully understand the chart just yet.
This is a standalone workshop, but it will take place right before the final class of our 6 part astrology series. They are separate, so it’s not required—but we do recommend exploring them together!
This in person workshop will take place at The Mindful Nest on Sunday December 15th, 5-8:30pm, and includes a printed copy of your chart (with the asteroids included!), and tea. Come meet new friends and build your spiritual community!
