ASTEME Science of Videogames

Welcome to the ASTEME Nature Eco-exploration Camp at ASTEME Academy! Embark on an exciting adventure at our STEM-powered summer camp, where virtual worlds like Roblox, Minecraft, and Super Mario come alive through creativity and technology. Inspired by Minecraft's blocky landscapes, they'll tackle architectural challenges, learning engineering and spatial reasoning. In Roblox, they'll code interactive games, enhancing computational thinking. Super Mario fans will dive into game mechanics, crafting their own side-scrolling adventures and learning physics principles. We will take a fieldtrip or have a guest speaker during this week.

WHO MAY ATTEND

Students entering kindergarten through incoming 9th graders who are interested in exploring the natural world around them.

CLASS SIZE

Our campers will be separated into different groups based on grade levels. Each group will have an 8 to 1 student teacher ratio. Smaller class size means greater opportunity to interact and have fun.

SCHEDULE

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday - from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. No credits are issued for missing a class. No refunds. No exceptions. Thank you.

ACTIVITIES

Campers will learn the science behind and play various video games such as Minecraft, Roblox, and Super Mario. They will also engage in hands on activities such as Skeletons vs. Golems Snowball Fight and Bloxels.

The materials and staffing necessary will have already been purchased and scheduled for your child's place in the class. We appreciate your understanding. In the event of insufficient enrollment or any other circumstances out of our control, the camp may be canceled or rescheduled for a later date. If we have to cancel a week's camp, you will be refunded in full.
