Aspley People's Forest tree care volunteering at King George V, Aspley
About this Event
Come along and help nurture a 4,000+ tree forest and orchard at our monthly open volunteering session - meeting every third Saturday of the month from midday-2pm.
These sessions are to help establish a new and (eventually) self-directed group of local volunteers to care for our 4,000 tree forest planted in partnership between Green Hustle, Trees for Cities, Nottingham Green Guardians, Nottingham Open Spaces Forum and the Sherwood People's Forest. This builds on earlier new planting working from Nottingham Green Guardians, creating a new city forest, a People's Forest for Aspley.
You don't need to bring anything except weather appropriate clothing and shoes, but if you have a litter picker that would help.
Please note the map location is approximate, and there is no specific meet point yet (but you can help us get things like this established). We're mainly focussed on the side of the site with trees planted and fenced on the east of the park. Best access is via the north, Aspley Road, entrance at the top of the main cut through path.
The what3words location is ///fear.pots.buddy
This forest contributes to the health and happiness of local people, and ties into the Sherwood People's Forest project - reviving Sherwood Forest across the county of Nottinghamshire.
Phone contacts for the volunteer lead will be shared in your confirmation details.
