Aspiring Guides Women's Winter Series 2026

This winter, Aspiring Guides is launching the very first Women's Winter Series, a collection of four women-only trips, courses, and events designed to encourage, empower, and connect women in the mountains of Aotearoa New Zealand.
Each experience in the series is led by one of our qualified female guides and built around a simple belief: that women thrive when they adventure together. Whether you're brand new to the backcountry or ready to push into serious alpine terrain, there's a place for you in this series.
The Women's Winter Series runs from July through to October 2026 - so you can join one, or take on the whole season.

Women's Avalanche Skills Course Level 1
📅 July 17–18 • 6 spots
Your first step into the backcountry. Over 1.5 days, you'll gain a solid understanding of avalanche terrain, decision-making, forecasting, and companion rescue skills - led by a qualified female guide. NZ Mountain Safety Council accredited.

Women's 4-Day Beginner Backcountry Hut Trip
📅 August 7–10 • 4 spots
Held at Robrosa Hut at 1,700m in the Pisa Range, spend four days learning to skin, read the mountain, and earn your first untracked powder turns - all in a remote alpine hut with a small crew of women and a female guide by your side.

Women's 5-Day Glacier Touring Trip
📅 October 7–11 • 4 spots
Designed for intermediate-advanced women, spend five days amongst the glaciers of Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park or the West Coast, skiing and splitboarding with an IFMGA-qualified female guide.
