About this Event
Join the American Society of Mechanical Engineers DC Section as we close out another exceptional year with our annual End-of-Year Luncheon—a celebration of innovation, leadership, and the future of engineering.
This year’s program features keynote remarks from Matthew Trone, the current ASME Congressional Fellow serving in the office of Ron Wyden. Working on the Senator’s domestic policy team, Matthew has already made a meaningful impact, with two bills he authored recently introduced in Congress. A biomedical engineer with a PhD from the University of Utah, his work spans biotechnology, gene therapy, and health policy—including research using CRISPR gene editing to study spinal tissue degeneration. He now advises on drug regulation and biomedical innovation, translating complex science into actionable policy.
We will also recognize and celebrate this year’s ASME DC Science Fair Award winners—outstanding students whose creativity and technical excellence represent the next generation of engineering leaders. Their award-winning projects highlight the ingenuity and promise shaping the future of our field.
Enjoy a relaxed, family-style Italian lunch while connecting with fellow engineers, policymakers, students, and industry leaders. This event is both a reflection on the past year’s accomplishments and an opportunity to build momentum for the year ahead.
Come celebrate, connect, and be inspired by the engineers shaping tomorrow.
