About this Event
This workshop focuses on producing Asian-style fruits and vegetables on small acreage. It will introduce the growing demand for new varieties and how growers could achieve higher profit margins via diverse market venues. Topics include procurement of seeds, varieties appropriate for our mountain climate, production methods, marketing, and financial analysis. A light lunch will be provided. This workshop is geared towards commercial growers, gardeners and extension agents.
Our speaker is Dr. Kathleen Liang, who grows Asian varieties on the small farm unit at the Center for Environmental Farming Systems (CEFS), where she serves as co-director. Dr. Liang has been employed by NC A&T State University since August 2016.
