On this day we mark the sign of the cross on ourselves to be grounded in our mortality as we seek a more faithful life. “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” Lent is an opportunity to go deeply into our hearts and the souls of our communities, and to recognize the depth of our estrangement from God.
