About this Event
TOPIC:
Emulative detailing refers to the design of connection systems in precast concrete structures so that its structural performance is equivalent to that of conventionally designed, cast-in-place, monolithic concrete structures. This technique allows for the conversion of conventionally designed concrete structures into precast alternatives. This presentation will focus on emulative precast concrete moment frames and explore project characteristics that make the transition to precast advantageous, highlight potential challenges in the process, and showcase real-world examples of successful implementation.
SPEAKER (S):
Michael Willis P.E., S.E., is Senior Lead Engineer with Product and Systems Development (PSD) group at Tindall Corporation. He has over 10 years of experience designing precast structures. Michael has been involved in several large industrial projects with a focus on implementing new products and systems utilizing precast concrete construction. He is active in both ACI and PCI and lives in Atlanta, GA.
Retirees and Students Free. No need to register, just walk-in and contact me after the meeting for PDH
The room we got this fall is smaller in size, so we are limiting the attendance to less than 20. We hope to get back to larger class rooms by Spring 2026 season
