About this Event
Course Description:
Civil engineers from H2M will provide an in-depth overview of Phase 2A of the Station Yards development, a transformative transit-oriented community project surrounding the Long Island Rail Road’s Ronkonkoma Station. In their presentation, they will explore the planning, design, and implementation strategies employed in this multi-phased initiative, with a focus on how Phase 2A integrates residential, retail, and office spaces while overcoming engineering and site challenges.
The presentation will highlight key aspects of Phase 2A, including its role within the larger Ronkonkoma Hub Transit Oriented Development, innovative engineering approaches, and solutions to unique site challenges. Broader topics include infrastructure improvements, interagency coordination, and the integration of sustainable systems to support long-term growth.
The discussion will examine key takeaways from the development process, emphasizing effective strategies for overcoming challenges and enhancing project efficiency. They will conclude with insights into future phases and how they build on the successes of Phase 2A to continue transforming this transit-oriented area into a thriving, interconnected community.
