Ascarate Park Campout

The El Paso County Parks & Recreation Department invites the public to an “Overnight Adventure” at Ascarate Park, located at 6900 Delta Drive. Participants are invited to spend a night under the stars beginning Saturday, Sept. 26, through the morning of Sunday, Sept. 27.
Guests can enjoy nighttime fishing and gather around a community campfire and bring their marshmallows to roast. Registration is open Aug. 24 through Sept. 25 at the El Paso County Parks & Recreation administrative offices, located inside Ascarate Park. Registration is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Registration fees are $10 for adults ages 18-59 and $5 for children, seniors and veterans. Families may also reserve picnic shelters starting at $50. The deadline to register is Sept. 25 before the Parks & Recreation administrative offices close at 4:45 p.m. There will be no same-day registration on Sept. 26.
Participants may arrive at Ascarate Park as early as 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, but all campers must check in and receive their event packets between 3 and 5 p.m. Campers will then be able to enjoy the park and overnight activities before checking out by 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 27.
For the safety of all participants, re-entry and vehicle use will not be permitted from 11:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. during the overnight event.
Anglers planning to fish are reminded that a Texas fishing license is required for anyone 17 years of age and older.
