Whilst registration will remain open until the event begins, registrations for attendance will close at 5:00 pm ACST Wednesday 26th August 2026, allowing for EESA to issue an attendance link for those attending online. If you register after this time, you may not receive an online attendance link or be able to register to attend in-person.

Refreshments will be provided for the in-person attendees, with both vegan and non-vegan options available. The refreshments will be provided from 10:30 am in Lecture Room S115A.

Synopsis:
ASC built the country’s Collins Class submarines, sustains them, is delivering their Life of Type Extension, and has been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build nuclear-powered submarines in Australia. Speakers:
Samuel Shing, Graduate Electrical Engineer, Nuclear IPT, ASC
Originally from Melbourne, he graduated from Monash University with a degree in Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering before relocating to Adelaide to join ASC's graduate program. Since joining ASC over a year ago, Samuel has contributed to the Collins Class Life-of-Type Extension (LOTE) program. As part of the propulsion team, he supported upgrades to the main propulsion motor systems and associated electrical equipment, helping to enhance the capability and longevity of the Collins Class fleet. Samuel now works within the nuclear team on the AUKUS program, where he contributes to nuclear licensing and governance activities that support the development of Australia's future conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarine capability.
