Working alongside Paul, you'll learn industry-standard techniques for safely handling artworks, planning layouts, measuring and positioning work, fixing pieces securely, and creating an exhibition that is both professional and engaging for visitors. Whether you're an artist preparing for your own exhibitions, a curator, or simply curious about what happens behind the scenes, this workshop offers valuable practical experience in a real gallery setting.
Paul has worked with leading contemporary arts organisations including EASTinternational, The Sainsbury Centre, and East Gallery, bringing years of technical expertise in exhibition installation and artwork care.
By the end of the session you'll have contributed to the installation of a major group exhibition while gaining practical skills and confidence that can be applied to your own exhibitions and creative projects.
This workshop is part of By Doing Together – Shared Stewardship in Practice, supporting artists to develop the practical skills needed to work collaboratively, care for shared spaces, and deliver exhibitions and events together.
No previous experience is necessary—just wear comfortable clothing and be ready to get hands-on!
