Join the Public Art Futures Lab for an on-site visit to Lightscape’s Atlanta hub, a behind-the-scenes look at the tools, systems, and workflows that power lighting and projection across film, live performance, public art, and large-scale installations.
This guided tour is designed for artists, designers, and technologists interested in lighting design, projection-based work, performance production, film environments, and creative technology. Participants will gain insight into how creative vision is translated into reliable execution - exploring lighting systems, control and networking, power distribution, and real-world problem-solving used in professional production environments.
Lightscape’s Atlanta team serves as a collaborative hub for education, experimentation, and applied learning. During this visit, attendees will learn how lighting and projection technologies are deployed across disciplines, and how artists can better understand the technical frameworks that support ambitious creative work in public and live settings.
This event is open to all ages (minors must be accompanied by an adult), but will be especially valuable for artists and creatives looking to deepen their understanding of lighting and projection as artistic media, whether for public art, installation, film, or performance contexts.
About The Arts + Tech Ecoystems Series:
The Arts + Tech Ecosystem tours began as a dedicated program for selected Public Art Futures Lab artists-in-residence - designed to introduce them to the tools, institutions, and people shaping creative technology in Atlanta. Over time, these visits sparked meaningful conversations, collaborations, and long-term relationships, revealing the value of opening these experiences to a broader audience. Now offered to the public, the tours function like expanded studio visits; providing behind-the-scenes access to industry partners, academic institutions, and nonprofits that support and advance the arts + technology ecosystem in Fulton County and the greater Atlanta area.
