About this Event

Arts Learning Exchange Series: Connecting Classrooms, Connecting Communities

A half-day regional gathering for anyone who believes arts learning is stronger when schools and communities work together.

Register now and join us! Bring your ideas, curiosity, and hopes for arts learning—and meet educators, artists, organizations, and community leaders from across your region.

The Arts Learning Exchange Series brings people from across Maine’s arts learning ecosystem together for six dynamic half-day gatherings throughout the 2026–27 school year. Hosted by regional anchor organizations, each Exchange offers a welcoming, participatory space to share ideas, discover local resources, build relationships, and imagine what’s possible when we work across districts, disciplines, and sectors.

What to Expect

This is not a traditional conference. Come ready to participate, connect, and create!

  • Youth Arts Showcase — Celebrate creative work by local students.
  • Flashes of Inspiration — Hear short, energizing stories from educators, artists, and community partners.
  • The Statewide Perspective — Discover current arts learning resources, initiatives, and opportunities from the Maine Department of Education and Maine Arts Commission.
  • Hopes & Dreams — Envision what vibrant arts learning could look like in your school and community.
  • Local Asset Mapping — Identify the people, organizations, resources, and ideas already at work in your area.
  • Create Together — Make, move, listen, perform, or explore a creative experience together.
  • Find a Partner — Make new connections and discover potential collaborators through facilitated networking.

You don't need to be an arts specialist to participate. If you're curious about the role creativity can play in learning and community life, there's a place for you at the Exchange.
