Join OETA as we team up with Oklahoma Contemporary for ArtNow: Materials and Boundaries Gallery Talks. Organized by Guest Curator Alexa Goetzinger and Guest Curatorial Assistant Virginia Sitzes, Materials and Boundaries is the 2025 edition of the Oklahoma Contemporary ArtNow biennial exhibition, highlighting new and recent work from contemporary artists active in the state.
The exhibition explores Oklahoman identity through the themes of place and self, using experimental materials and innovative practices. Oklahoma’s unique geographic and cultural position influences the artists’ perspectives, resulting in thoughtful, nuanced work that reflects both local and global influences.
The Gallery Talk at 5:30 p.m. will feature Ebony Iman Dallas and Leticia R. Bajuyo, two of the seven artists included in the exhibition who have also been highlighted on Gallery America.
Following the talk, enjoy a special screening of Gallery America, featuring all seven Gallery America artists: Amy Sanders de Melo, Leticia R. Bajuyo, Ebony Iman Dallas, Irmgard Geul, Denise Duong, Behnaz Sohrabian, and Carlos Barboza.
This event is free to the public.
