Join SBM Gallery for a series of artists in conversation. Each month a group of two or more artists will discuss the way they collaborate, how these partnerships impact their creative practice, and the joys and challenges of working together.
In honor of Junteenth, Friday, June 12th at 6:00pm, Gantt and Duggan reflect on collaboration, personal power, platform-building, and the responsibility artists carry within systems that shape public life. Their conversation will explore the long history of Black people making art, both as a means of survival and institution building, and how film, visual art, and theater can activate philanthropy, accountability, and community power.
