Riding big on its seven shows since 2022 the Art Bengaluru Collective (ABC) is back in an all-new avatar this month-end. For three days from October 31 ABC will come alive with ArtistryAnnual its first National Festival of Art at Bengaluru’s Rangoli Metro Art Centre on MG Road. Thirty-two visual artists 300 plus artworks multimedia projections and a brand new ABC Campus Connect is all set to pack a punch.

Reputed actor and singer Vasundhara Das will formally launch the art festival at 11 am on October 31 unfurling an exciting mix of paintings in water colour acrylic oil pastels charcoal and graphic illustrations. Spread across three galleries the festival will unveil a riveting ensemble of artworks created and curated by the artists themselves. The show will stay alive through the weekend welcoming the city’s art buffs and art buyers from 11 am to 7 pm every day.

Building on the multimedia platform launched at ABC’s previous edition the Festival will for the first time project the works of global artists from the United Kingdom the United States France and Australia. The projections are designed to add a whole new dimension to the artworks displayed at ABC’s main gallery.

Launched in 2022 by journalist-artist Rasheed Kappan and painter-theatre person Ranji David ABC is a platform that democratizes access to art appreciation in a gallery setup. All its previous seven shows have made that connect between artists and art lovers seamless while keeping the setup affordable engaging and appealing. The Rangoli Metro Art Centre MG Road has been the main ABC base so far with one show venturing out to the Karnataka ChitraKala Parishath and the last one at the Bangalore International Centre.

As always ABC ArtistryAnnual will be an interactive space for artists art buyers and enthusiasts peppered with live art talks portraits live caricatures and more. Over 250 artists are now attached to the ABC network redefining creative community engagement and fostering a sense of camaraderie.

In the words of CoFounder Rasheed Kappan “Over the last three years ABC has emerged as a platform for both professional and upcoming artists to showcase their works in a democratised gallery setting. It should help the artists build lasting bonds while amplifying the reach of their artworks. We hope ABC ArtistryAnnual being held at the Rangoli Metro Art Centre will push the Collective’s objective in meaningful ways.” 

Here’s what ABC CoFounder Ranji David has to say about the show: “We are excited that artists of various styles of work are exhibiting their art alongside each other. Our dream is to curate a space where artists of various backgrounds and ethnicity come together and make Bengaluru a vibrant space. We are hoping this builds a greater sense of camaraderie which allows artists who usually work in isolation to share ideate and grow as artists and as human beings.”
