COMU members and friends are invited for an artist talk featuring New York-based contemporary artist Kira Name Greene in conversation with Jonathan F. Walz, Ph. D., curator of American art.
Greene's work draws from the feminist traditions of the Pattern and Decoration Movement. Through a blend of realism and abstraction, the artist utilizes various media such as oil, acrylic, gouache, watercolor, and colored pencil to create her distinctive portraitures.
Greene's paintings have been exhibited internationally, and in 2022, she was a finalist for the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery's Outwin Boochever Portrait Award.
