How do you translate policy, history, and lived experience into portraiture? This artist talk features a conversation with Jacob Grant, the Louisville-based LGBTQ artist behind the oil paintings in 25 Faces of Fairness, exploring the creative process behind the exhibition.Moderated by Missy Spears, Executive Director of Queer Kentucky, the discussion will examine why portraiture was chosen over photography, how art can carry civic memory, and what it means to visually document a movement still in progress.
Check out our other events occurring with this exhibit, including a panel on activism featuring familiar faces from the art, and a NKY Queer History presentation from historian and author Jake Hogue.
