FROM FIRE TO WATER by DON RITTER
The MIT Club of Montréal presents a free lecture and video screening by Canadian artist Don Ritter in recognition of his 2024 Governor General’s Award in Visual and Media Arts. The presentation includes video and photo documentation of Ritter’s architectural projections, silk-screen prints on metal, and video-sound installations controlled by music, voice or body gestures.

Since 1988, Ritter’s artworks have been exhibited in 23 countries at venues in North and South America, Europe and Asia, including the National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa), SITE Santa Fe (New Mexico), Ars Electronica Festival (Linz), New Music America (New York City), Akademie der Künste (Berlin), and the Daegu Culture and Arts Center (South Korea).
Ritter completed his graduate studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology/MIT in the Center for Advanced Visual Studies, MIT Media Lab, and Harvard University Film Studies.
