Join artist Jonni Ketcher for a free artist talk that explores Indigenous inspiration in the past, present, and future. We will discuss how to protect our peace and each other in the modern age.
Jonni Ketcher is a professional liar. As the Cherokee word "gagoga" loosely describes the act of storytelling or "lying,” Jonni proudly claims the title, alongside being a versatile, award-winning artist and graphic designer.
Since she was small, she's always found solace in stories and art, enjoying the ways people find connection and share themselves with one another. Despite being an introvert, she has enjoyed sharing her work at markets around the PNW–sharing the stories behind the artwork as they were shared with her by her grandpa. One friend remarked, "You light up. You get good medicine from telling these stories."
This free event is part of the Gresham Indigenous Arts Festival, October 2-4, at the Gresham Historical Society.
