Aicinām MĀ TELPA ARTIST RESIDENCY 3. augustā pl. 20:00 uz sarunu ar mākslinieku Hoakinu Goldšteinu (Peru/Argentīna), kā arī viņa dokumentālās filmas prezentāciju.
Dokumentālā filma „KUĢU KATASTROFAS PROJEKCIJA” (SHIPWRECK DISASTERS) ataino 2023. gada protestus Limā pret valdību, kuru laikā tika aizdedzināta vēsturiska ēka Sanmartina laukumā (Plaza San Martín). Mākslinieks Hoakins Goldšteins, kurš šajā ēkā dzīvoja vairākus gadus, atgriežas Peru, lai meklētu savus mākslas darbus, kas pēc ugunsgrēka palikuši zem gruvešiem un pelniem.
Hoakins Goldšteins ir starpdisciplinārs mākslinieks, kura radošā prakse aptver glezniecību, performanci un dokumentālo kino. Viņa darbi ar ironiju un asu kritisku skatījumu pēta mūsdienu mākslas sistēmu un tās saikni ar psiholoģiju un sociālajiem procesiem. Izglītību glezniecībā viņš ieguvis Buenosairesā un Barselonā. Goldšteins bija mākslas un psihiatrijas mijiedarbei veltītā kolektīva Nennacanale dalībnieks. 2009. gadā Limas vēsturiskajā centrā viņš nodibināja eksperimentālu mākslas un mākslinieku rezidenču telpu Zona 30, kā arī Terror Gallery – vienu no nozīmīgākajām eksperimentālās mākslas platformām reģionā. 2018. gadā viņš pārcēlās uz Montevideo (Urugvaja), kur Vecpilsētas rajonā izveidoja neatkarīgu mākslas centru Hiperespacio. Viņa personālizstādes notikušas Amerikā un Eiropā. Jaunākās izstādes Gravity Art Space Manilā (2024) un Alliance Française Arekipā (2026) turpina viņa pētījumus par spriedzi starp mākslu, institūcijām un subjektivitāti.

Documentary Film: Shipwreck Disasters
Shipwreck Disasters documents the 2023 anti-government protests in Lima, Peru, during which a historic building in Plaza San Martín was set on fire. Joaquín Goldstein, an artist who lived in the building for several years, returns to Peru in search of the artworks he had stored on its rooftop, now buried beneath rubble and ashes.
Joaquín Goldstein (Peru/Argentina) is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice spans painting, performance, and documentary filmmaking. His work critically examines the contemporary art system and its intersections with psychology and social dynamics, combining irony with sharp analytical insight. Trained as a painter in Buenos Aires and Barcelona, Goldstein was a member of the Nennacanale collective, which explored the relationship between art and psychiatry. In 2009, he founded Zona 30, an experimental art and artist residency space in Lima's Historic Centre, together with Terror Gallery, a landmark platform for experimental art in the region. Since 2018, Goldstein has been based in Montevideo, Uruguay, where he established Hiperespacio, an independent artistic hub in the Ciudad Vieja district. He has presented solo exhibitions throughout the Americas and Europe. His recent exhibitions at Gravity Art Space, Manila (2024), and the Alliance Française of Arequipa (2026) continue his investigation into the tensions between art, institutions, and subjectivity.
