Our January 19th Monthly Meeting (10 AM to noon), will be held at "People Helping People" at 1396 Kass Circle and includes a presentation by former NCAL President, Mia Auger! Guests are welcome to attend. Mia works in many, many mediums, and this one is fascinating!"Creating Art with Clay and Pine Needles"
Mia grew up in Sweden where her passion for nature began. While studying horticulture in California she was introduced to ceramics. As soon as her hands touched the clay, she was hooked. Moving from Earth to Clay was a natural progression.
The need to create and build with her hands, combined with the need to ' the force behind ner work. After moving to Florida Mia's work has evolved into various forms by combining clay and Florida's Longleaf pine needles.
Mia's inspiration comes from nature, various places and life experiences and as an artist continually searches for new and exciting ways in which she can express her true self.
