Meet the Presenters:
Rudy Multz was born and raised in Homer. He performed solo as Rockin’ Rudy before becoming the frontman for Los Holy Santos Gang for 10 years and has been making a recent comeback playing solo as well as in the world of theater. He would describe his music as Frontier Rock, a blend of singer-songwriter Americana from the Last Frontier. His strong vocal presence lends itself well to his original ballads with clear and compelling lyrics that paint a portrait of a place you might call home. He will be sharing his experience and success performing as a hometown artist and give a brief presentation on what effect having a stage persona can have on a musician finding their footing in a small town and beyond.
Jenny Baker was raised on alfalfa bluegrass and lava rock in Bend, Oregon. Her love of music was fed early by Tori Amos, Ani DiFranco, Patty Griffin, Siouxsie and the Banshees, many lengths of hair metal (in its decline), alternative, and opera. Choir robes and playing festivals with The Colored Pencils in the late 90s only fueled the fire. She released her first album in 2003, was voted Bend’s Best Musician in 2004, and released a full-band 5 song EP in 2005. Since she moved to Alaska in 2005, she has played at the Fireweed Festival, Trapper Creek Bluegrass, Anchorage Folk Festival, Salmon Stock and small venue concerts, but is ready to return with full force to the music scene.
Jacques Longpre’ is an Alaskan singer-songwriter whose music reflects his upbringing along the Kuskokwim River. His blend of folk, grunge, and blues explores themes of isolation and nature’s beauty. Influenced by traditional storytelling and grunge energy, Jacques creates a nostalgic yet contemporary sound.
