Artist in Residence: WONDER with Natalie Callum

📅 September 19, 2026
🕒 3 p.m.
📍 Sawmill Campground
Wonder is a word that holds space for both awe and doubt. Wondering—questioning, marveling—makes us human. I invite you to give yourself to wonder. To experience the exquisite beauty of the natural world around us. To remain curious.
Humans have written poetry for over 4,000 years. Why? Perhaps it is because poetry has the capacity to provide understanding even when we cannot know the answers. It helps us make sense of who we are in this complex existence. I want to understand your wonder. To hear your stories of beauty in Wyoming. Come share and I will listen, synthesizing our memories into a shared body of poetry.
And, I will share my wonder with you. Throughout Sinks Canyon State Park, you will be able to access geographic pins paired with audio recordings and display signs that will share my poems in the real, astounding places that inspired them.
For a moment, you’ll see the world as I do—and I’ll see the world as you do.
The weekend will conclude with a live reading and a dynamic Q&A, where we will all question and answer, together.
What is the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen? I can’t wait to hear your answer.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a camp chair and water.
