The Oklahoma Anthropological Society will hold an Artifact Identification Day on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 10am-4pm. This program is free of admission and sponsored by the Oklahoma Anthropological Society.
This event is open to anyone who would like to bring objects they have found and learn about them. Although identification of projectile points is subjective at best, local avocational archeologists will help identify the items to the best of their ability and provide insight into the history connected to the objects/items.
Experts will not appraise or speculate about the monetary value of any object/item.
The Oklahoma Archeological Society has recorded at least 570 prehistoric and historic sites in Muskogee County alone.
Oklahoma's archeological record dates back over 14,000 years. Oklahoma residents regularly encounter artifacts and evidence of this.
This program provides an opportunity for people who have found artifacts to learn more about the discoveries and about Oklahoma's archeological heritage.
This is a first-come, first-served basis. Please limit your objects/items to no more than 20 objects/items.
