About this Event

Art VS Life is back.

For 6+ years, Art VS Life has been holding space for raw, real, and reflective performances in the heart of Bushwick. Now we're running monthly — every 4th Monday at Starr Bar — with more intention, more energy, and a stronger room every time.

🎤 Open Mic + Karaoke

📍 Event Details Starr Bar — Brooklyn 🕔 Doors: 5PM ✍🏾 Open Mic Sign-ups: 6:30PM 🎶 Open Mic: 7PM – ~9:30PM 🎤 Karaoke: ~9:30 / 10PM – Late

🎤 Performing All performance styles welcome — music, poetry, comedy, storytelling, movement.

• Sign-ups are first come, first served
• One slot at a time (you may re-sign after performing)
• Early arrival strongly recommended — sign-ups close at 8PM to keep the show moving

🎟 Tickets

RSVP (Free) — Reserve your spot and stay in the loop on event updates. This gets you in the door.

Performer Ticket — Allows you to sign up for the open mic and participate in karaoke. Grab this if you plan to perform.

⚠️ If you sign up ahead of time, check in by 8 p.m. to make sure you get your spot.

🌱 Community Guidelines Respect the space — no harmful content (racism, transphobia, misogyny, etc.)

Art VS Life is for artists building from the ground up — the ones learning to be their own team without losing their soul.

Info: This is when people are able to either sign up or check in.

Open Mic Performances

Info: This is the open mic portion where artists come to share their voice. Any form of creative live performance is welcome.

Karaoke

Info: The karaoke portion begins. You are allowed to sign up and perform a song. If you would like to do another song, you can sign up again, but only after you've gotten off the stage already.
