Specialist Training for Money Laundering Reporting Officers in the Art Sector
Target Audience
MLRO’s and Deputy MLRO’s wishing to have a greater understanding of their legal obligations in order to protect their business from regulatory action.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the nature of the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) role and responsibilities.
- Compliance with all statutory and regulatory obligations relating to the MLRO role.
- The importance of drafting effective Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and subsequent liaison with the National Crime Agency.
- Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the firm’s AML/CTF regime.
Course Schedule
- The appointment and role of the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) within an organisation
- The responsibility of the MLRO to ensure a firm’s compliance with the Money Laundering Regulations 2017 including establishing an internal AML Audit function
- The role of the MLRO when it comes to forming business relationships with higher risk customers
- How to draft effective Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and liaison with the National Crime Agency
- The need for an Anti-Bribery & Corruption Policy and an overview of the Bribery Act 2010
- What to expect from a Supervisory inspection by HMRC and protecting the business from regulatory action
- SAR reporting practical exercise

- Please ensure you are logged into the training session 10 minutes beforehand as the course will commence promptly at 10am. Delegates will not be permitted access after 10:15am.
- You will receive a course handout and the Zoom access links prior to the course.
- Cameras must be turned on throughout as this is a CPD-certified course.
- Delegates must the session for the duration to receive a certificate upon completion of the online course.
