The Art Over Addiction Program was designed to offer a holistic approach to individuals who desire to recover from or who are actively in recovery from addiction and to the family members affected by addiction.

At Stilettos we put people and community first. We practice LOVE and ACCPTANCE. We have chosen to be the change we desire to see in the world. Our goal is to offer a light of hope to those in a dark place. We have a simple mission to help people learn how to help themselves using art as the means to do so. We are not therapists nor doctors and we will never claim to be these things. We are artists. We are teachers. We have taught over 30000 students since opening our doors and this has allowed us to see the true healing powers that art and creating art can have on an individual. Art and the process of creating teaches the student how to naturally become still be in the present moment how to self-regulate themselves how to slowly process feelings and to put feeling that do not have words into creative expression. This process is unique to every individual and is a process that happens over time.... naturally.

This program is not intended to replace traditional therapy and we are not here to diagnose anyone as we are not doctors nor therapists. We do not offer medical advice or anything like that. We legally have to state this.

We are just here to help and provide a new way for people to lift themselves up and out of the things that can lead to addiction or the effects that addiction may have had on their lives. Our teachers and volunteers are all either in recovery or have been touched by addictions in their life i n some way and know first hand how it can impact lives. We also know how the world sets people up to fail and have all been uplifted by art on our journeys of recovery and healing. We believe in every student that walks through our doors. We know that everyone is beautiful and can accomplish anything in life they desire to with the right support. 

One student once said that Art Saved His Life. That's his personal story with addiction grief loss trauma and art. We just invite you to come write your own unique story and we are willing to teach you the tools and skills necessary to express yourself in your own unique way with art. 

This program is currently a free program. If you have the means we welcome your donations as it helps us grow this program and keep is running. We intend to offer it for free for as long as we can afford to. If you are able to donate we truly appreciate it.
