Gallery Nucleus, in conjunction with Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation, is proud to bring you a look behind-the-scenes of KPOP DEMON HUNTERS. In addition to a panel and signing with some of the creatives behind the film, the gallery will feature a stunning collection of concept artwork ,as well as tribute artwork from some of the film's production artists! Guests on opening day will also be able to purchase special KPOP Demon Hunters donuts, courtesy of Moonbridge Donuts!

- Signing will begin immediately after the panel

ABOUT THE PANELISTS
MAGGIE KANG - DIRECTOR
Maggie Kang is a director of Sony Pictures Animation’s KPop Demon Hunters, which originated from her idea and is now streaming on Netflix. Kang began her career at DreamWorks Animation as a story artist on various projects including the Puss In Boots franchise and The Croods: A New Age, as well as Rise of the Guardians, Kung-Fu Panda 3, Trolls, Shrek Forever After, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa and Over the Hedge. Prior to joining Sony Animation, Kang contributed her talents as a story artist at Illumination Entertainment on Minions: The Rise of Gru, and Warner Animation Group, where she was Head of Story on The LEGO Ninjago Movie. Born in Seoul, Korea, Kang grew up in Toronto, Canada and attended Sheridan College where she studied classical animation.
CHRIS APPELHANS - DIRECTOR
Chris Appelhans is a director of Sony Pictures Animation’s KPop Demon Hunters, now streaming on Netflix, with fellow director Maggie Kang. Appelhans wrote and directed Sony Pictures Animation’s 2021 animated feature film Wish Dragon, also streaming on Netflix. Prior to joining Sony Pictures Animation, Appelhans wrote and developed several original projects with major studios including Disney, Laika and Paramount. Appelhans began his career as a concept artist on animated hits such as The Princess and the Frog, The Fantastic Mr. Fox, and Monster House, before moving into production design on the stop-motion feature Coraline, which earned him an Annie Award nomination for his work on the film.
HELEN CHEN - PRODUCTION DESIGNER
Mingjue Helen Chen is a visual development artist and production designer currently based in Los Angeles. She graduated Academy of Art University in 2010 and has been working in the animation industry since, with clients like Walt Disney Animation Studios, Warner Brothers studios, Paramount Animation, Netflix Animation, and Sony Pictures Animation. Notable projects include “Frankenweenie,” “Wreck-It Ralph,” “Big Hero 6,” “Wish Dragon,” “Raya and the Last Dragon,” and most recently served as Production Designer for Sony Pictures Animation's “KPop Demon Hunters,” now on Netflix.
JOSHUA BEVERIDGE - ANIMATION DIRECTOR
Joshua Beveridge is the Head of Character Animation at Sony Pictures Imageworks, most recently completing work on KPOP DEMON HUNTERS, for Sony Pictures Animation and Netflix. Beveridge joined Imageworks in 2005 and his credits include: THE SEA BEAST, the Academy Award®-winning SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE, STORKS, HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 2, ALICE IN WONDERLAND, CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS, I AM LEGEND, SURF’S UP, OPEN SEASON, THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE, and ARTHUR CHRISTMAS. Beveridge attended the Ringling College of Art & Design and graduated with a degree in animation. He received a Visual Effects Society Award for his contribution to SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE and a nomination for I AM LEGEND. He is a member of AMPAS, VES, and ASIFA.
DAVE BLEICH - PRODUCTION DESIGNER
Dave Bleich most recently served as a production designer for Sony Pictures Animation’s global breakout hit “KPop Demon Hunters," now streaming on Netflix. Bleich is a highly experienced visual artist who specializes in lighting and color design, production design, art direction, and visual development for both animated and liveaction films. With over 25 years of experience in the visual effects and animation industry, he has contributed to some of the most ambitious and acclaimed projects in modern cinema. Bleich has played an instrumental role in several notable films, including “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse," “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” “Puss n’ Boots,” “SpiderMan: Into the Spider-Verse,” "The Mitchells vs. The Machines,” "The Missing Link,” “Cast Away,” "O Brother, Where Art Thou?,” “Titanic,” and "The Fifth Element." He also served as the Art Director for Sony’s "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2." For his work on the visually-groundbreaking "The Mitchells vs. The Machines," he received an ASIFA-Hollywood Annie Award for Best Production Design, as well as an Art Directors Guild Award for Outstanding Production Design in an Animated Feature Film. He was granted a BFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts and an MFA in Computer Graphics from Syracuse University.
