Art Meets Jazz: Victrola Voilà

For one November evening, Art Meets Jazz takes us back to the cafés and jazz clubs of 1930s and '40s Paris.

Victrola Voilà brings its distinctive blend of Parisian swing, jazz manouche, French musette, vintage standards, and blues to the intimate setting of the Hunt Art Gallery and Beebe's on the Square.

Led by Rochester guitarist Melanie Moralez, Victrola Voilà draws inspiration from the music and spirit of Django Reinhardt and the Hot Club of France, while bringing its own personality to a musical tradition that has always been about rhythm, improvisation, and the joy of musicians playing together.

JazzBuffalo audiences had the opportunity to experience Victrola Voilà this summer at the Buffalo Jazz Festival, where the trio brought a wonderfully different sound to Ellicott Street. On November 18, we'll have the chance to hear that music in an entirely different way.
