Michael Burkitt

Michael Burkitt is a working-class Artist, Curator & Educator, based in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire. Michael’s practice is context-specific, or site responsive. His work is optimistic and creates lots of room for romance, failure, repetition, labour, humour, love and institutional critique.

He intends to make meaningful connections with audiences or individuals with ideas, objects, images, performances and place.

Recent projects have explored oral and alternative histories of civic and social narratives through performance, text, photography, animation and film.

Michael King

Michael King is a portrait artist based in Calderdale, West Yorkshire. His work primarily focuses on oil painting, with an emphasis on capturing the character and essence of his subjects. Through bold brushwork and expressive use of colour, he aims to create portraits that convey both personality and emotion.

As a self-taught artist, his journey has been shaped by a deep curiosity and passion for the craft. He works on a range of projects, from private commissions to original works inspired by music, identity, and contemporary culture.

His recent work has been showcased locally, including an exhibition at Craft and Canvas in Hebden Bridge. He is currently accepting commissions for custom portraits, and is always exploring new themes and techniques for future collections.
