Do you remember the pure joy of sitting down with a pack of wax crayons and colouring as a child? The vibrant colours filling the space as your imagination was allowed to just run free. Splashing around the watercolour paints like they were going out of fashion, without a care in the world?
Imagine as an adult experiencing that feeling of expression that we felt as children, when we were free to create just for the fun of it.
As adults we sometimes feel that we need to create for a purpose, for an audience and for approval.
So how do we 'unlearn' being attached to outcomes, exact forms and our need to be perfect when we create?
We all doodle right? ( when you are on hold for a millennium on a phone call...or when that meeting was really really boring). Doodles are exactly what we will be doing here.
Reconnecting with our inner child and drawing simple outlines of flowers with colourful wax crayons and filling them in with water colour paints.
Releasing the need to be exact will teach us to appreciate the imperfect and embrace the care free creativity that lies within all of us.
It is time to let go of all inhibitions, grab your crayons and unleash your inner child.
