Art history & painting workshop: The art of Surrealism - Remedios Varo

This workshop is part of a Workshop-Series focussing on female artists and their work entitled “HerArt”. The current workshop is dedicated to Remedios Varo, a Spanish-Mexican Surrealist painter.

• In the first part of the workshop, you will learn about Remedios’ life, career, and techniques, as well as the principles of Surrealism.
• We will then put this knowledge into practice by creating an artwork together using surrealist methods such as Exquisite Corpse, incorporating words, images, and collaborative drawing.

• In the second part, you will create your own surrealistic art piece.
