Join us for a captivating and possibly hilarious event at the Booth Western Art Museum, where each of these talented writers will share their unique journey and insights into storytelling!
-Judy Benowitz – Judy Benowitz is a creative writer in Cartersville, Georgia with an MA in Professional Writing from Kennesaw State University in Georgia, where she was Who’s Who among Students in American Universities and Colleges in 2016. She is the 2015 Creative Writing Contest winner in the Georgia Writers Museum, and her stories appear in GRITS (Girls Raised in the South), the Atlanta Jewish Times, and the Georgia Writers Association among others. Her book Descendants, available on Amazon, is a collection of essays about her family from the plantation to modern day. She is currently writing a fiction collection.
-Ron Cagle – With a background in industrial cost engineering and a lifelong passion for Western art, Ron’s storytelling brings a technical yet heartfelt perspective to his writing. He has been actively involved in the Booth Museum’s Writer’s Guild, channeling his love for literature and the West.
Ron will be reading a short story: My Short Career as a ‘Professional Stud’, which illustrates the use of dialogue, rather than an abundance of adjectives, to create imagery
-Pat Margeson – Pat, with a career spanning the airline industry and business, brings a seasoned voice to her Western storytelling. As a Circle member of the Booth Writer’s Guild, she combines her life experiences with a fresh enthusiasm for exploring the American West through her writing. Pat will talk about writing as a great way to express your emotions.
-Denise McAllister – Denise is a member of the Booth Western Art Museum’s Writer’s Guild, Western Writers of America, Women Writing the West, and N.E. Georgia Writers. She has co-authored nine novels for Wolfpack/CKN Christian Publishing, and recently penned a new mystery series. She also stays busy with her freelance editing business.
Denise will talk about one of her latest books.
-Dr. Elizabeth Woolsey – An acclaimed equine veterinarian and writer, Elizabeth’s books—spanning memoir, historical narrative, and fiction—blend her career’s rich stories with a love for Western adventure. Known for her Travels of Dr. Rebecca Harper series, she brings veterinary insight and authenticity to Western fiction, making her a beloved voice in the genre. Elizabeth will talk about the Booth Writer’s Guild, The Travels of Dr. Rebecca Harper: A Matter of Time which is the first book about a woman who Time Travels back Nevada during the gold and silver rush.
Lunch will be available for $15.00 plus tax. Deadline to register for lunch is, Noon, December 3.
