Join us for fun and free drop-in art-making and live musical performances outdoors between the Cantor Arts Center and Anderson Collection.
ART for ALL Family Day is a celebration for all families and ages. Engage with art at the Stanford museums through free hands-on art activities and live music outside on the lawn plus story time and a scavenger hunt in the galleries! Our Fall Family Day activities will be inspired by the Cantor’s new exhibition , , as well as Anderson’s Collection: Nick Cave's Sound Suit and short film Drive-By, and Alteronce Gumby's artwork. In the afternoon, enjoy lively bhangra dance performances by Dholrhythms Dance Group, blending traditional Punjabi folk dance with contemporary influences for an energetic, interactive celebration of Punjabi music and culture.
Art Activities at the Cantor Arts Center
- Stained Glass "Window": Make a colorful picture that will let light shine through inspired by Shahzia Sikander's artwork.
- Origami: Inspired by Archive Room: Ruth Asawa, learn to fold paper into boats or butterflies, echoing projects Asawa taught in San Francisco schools.
- Clay Figure: Create your own sculpture of a person, inspired by Edmonia Lewis’s Neoclassical works depicting Black and Indigenous figures.
Art Activities at the Anderson Collection
- Make a Party Hat: Nick Cave Edition Design a colorful, textured party hat inspired by Nick Cave’s Soundsuit and short film Drive-By.
- Make a Mosaic: Cosmic Mosaic Coasters Inspired by Alteronce Gumby’s dazzling, galaxy-like artwork, create your own mini mosaic using tiles and gemstones!
Story Time & Scavenger Hunt
- Story Time: Listen to engaging stories in both the Cantor and Anderson galleries.
- Scavenger Hunt: Explore the galleries and discover art in a fun and interactive way.
Art for All Family Day is made possible through the generous support of the Hohbach Family Fund.

Parking
Free visitor parking is available along Lomita Drive as well as on the first floor of the Roth Way Garage Structure, located at the corner of Campus Drive West and Roth Way at 345 Campus Drive, Stanford, CA 94305. From the Palo Alto Caltrain station, the Cantor Arts Center is about a 20-minute walk.
Disability parking is located along Lomita Drive near the main entrance of the Cantor Arts Center. Additional disability parking is located on Museum Way and in Parking Structure 1 (Roth Way & Campus Drive). Please click here to view the disability parking and access points.

The main entrance of the Cantor Arts Center (Lomita Drive) is not accessible. The accessible entrance is down a pathway just to the left of the main entrance stairs. Just inside the accessible entrance, equipped with a power-operated door, an enclosed wheelchair lift provides access to the 1st floor main lobby.
