Pop in and see the work of Angela Herbert-Hodges from Tuesday 20 October to Saturday 21 November 2026.
Angela Herbert-Hodges paints because she just has to – creating art is a defining part of her existence.
She grew up in Cumbria, spending many dreamy holidays in the Scottish Highlands. Angela has travelled widely, and has lived and worked in London, Spain, and Paris working as a Cordon Bleu Chef and having a competitive fencing career. She spent five years in Zimbabwe which made her aware of the African wildlife and lead to her series of Endangered Animals. She loves elephants and rhinoceros and paints them to highlight the demise of these magnificent species through poaching. When Angela went to USA, she was able to paint very consistently and exhibited her paintings locally and regionally, and took part in juried shows.
In 2021 Angela settled in Perranporth, Cornwall. Her work is influenced by these fascinating places and the interesting characters she hase met along the way. She is deeply passionate about nature and has been struck by the distinctive Cornish landscape. Angela’s art reflects an abstracted vision of her connection to the environment.
