About Above & Beyond

In this exhibition, the work is not a destination, but a point of departure. Above & Beyond brings together eleven artists who inhabit the vital space where material reality gives way to something more profound. This collection is a study of transcendence: the act of rising above a medium's physical properties and reaching beyond the visible to capture the essence of the human spirit.

Across these ten distinct practices, a shared language of transformation emerges. Whether through the textured weight of sculpture or the fluid energy of a painting, these works function as "visual events" rather than static objects. They reject the silence of a flat surface, choosing instead to occupy a landscape of rhythm, light, and depth.

The exhibition explores the constant tension between structure and instinct—the desire to build, to order, and to contain, set against the impulse to surrender to the subconscious. By emphasizing the tactile and the sensory, these works invite a "slow looking" that reveals the hidden layers of our shared existence.
