Art and Nature Walk: Exploring Biodiversity Through Creative Expression

Overview:
Join us for an immersive Art and Nature Walk Workshop, where we will explore the rich biodiversity of the Danube area through the lens of art. Guided by biologist Florian Etl and artists Danny Nedkova and Yilmaz Vurucu, participants will engage with nature from an artistic perspective: drawing, listening, photographing, storytelling and creating. This workshop is designed to foster a deeper connection with the natural world, blending scientific observation with creative expression and is open to all levels of experience and knowledge.

Key Activities:

• Guided Exploration: Discover the diverse fauna and insects of the Danube, view the birds of the Danube through a telescope; engage with biologist Florian Etl on many unique and fascinating facts.
• Artistic Engagement: Participants are invited to express their observations through their chosen medium, whether it be drawing, writing, photography, or any other form of creative expression.
• Nature Journaling: Engage in participative storytelling and nature journaling, using techniques such as the personification of found objects in nature.
• Visitation to a Mural: The workshop will culminate in a visit to a mural (close by) created by youth from across Europe during a previous Art and Nature Walk project.

Preparation:

• Participants will receive reading materials for inspiration before the workshop.
• All levels of artistic competence are welcome: this is an opportunity to explore and create without judgment.

Outcomes:

• A deeper appreciation for the biodiversity of the Danube area.
• A collection of personal artistic creations inspired by nature.
• Connection with a community of like-minded individuals passionate about art, nature, and storytelling.

• No prior artistic experience is required: just bring your curiosity and creativity!
