Art and Ecology Summer Camp

We are excited to offer week-long summer camps designed for children ages 7–13. Our goal is to provide a place where kids can be creative while learning hands-on from local artists. School may be out, but art and history are in at the MAH!

Camp Description

In this one-week camp led by artist Jesica Evanjelista, campers will use our galleries and exhibitions as a source of inspiration to become muralists. Jessica will create daily activities, and we will finish the week with a showcase of everyone's work. Plus, they’ll gain a first-hand look at how a working artist creates murals across Santa Cruz and beyond.

This camp runs from 9 am to 1 pm. The MAH will also be offering additional child care at an extra cost from 1 pm to 3 pm for those interested in staying past 1 pm. We encourage you to sign up before space runs out! Space is limited to 20 campers; snacks and materials are included with registration.

Meet Jessica Evanjelista

Jessica was born and raised in Santa Cruz County and is passionate about the arts. She and her partner have been sharing their art as The Jams since they met in 2011 via art shows, community events, and murals throughout the continental US. Jessica enjoys traveling, trying out new restaurants, and creating art with her partner.

As a mural artist from Watsonville, CA, she also works at the Arts Council of Santa Cruz County, leading Empower Watsonville, a youth-led group that focuses on expanding youth advocacy to implement more equitable policies.
