Art @ Analog: Beyond The Horizon

Artist Farah Kesseiri departs from realistic depictions, using a visual language of forms, lines and colors to create paintings that references the world she comes from.
Born on the North African coast of the mediterranean sea in Algeria, the sea horizon often offered a calming, meditative, "blue mind" state. She reflects on past and present experiences emphasizing the expressive elements of color, gesture, and geometry. This allows for an open interpretation that moves beyond literal representation and explores feelings or concepts.
The combination of acrylic, watercolor, and gouache paints for a more versatile experience. Through emotions and intuitive painting, she attempts to sublimate her art, working mainly to explore all the nuances of colors, and each canvas invites her on a journey that she discovers as it progresses.
Opening reception July 31st 6-8pm. Exhibit will run throughout the month of August during Analog hours Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 5pm-11pm.
