🎶 Japanese Taiko Drummers Performance 8:00 PM – 8:30 PM Feel the powerful beat of Taiko drums and the energy of synchronized Japanese percussion. A visceral, rhythmic masterpiece blending tradition and modern dynamics.
🥋🎧 SHAOLIN JAZZ presents: CAN I KICK IT? 9:30 PM – 11:00 PM A genre-bending finale featuring martial arts cinema set to live DJ remixes. SHAOLIN JAZZ reimagines classic Kung Fu films—scored in real time with Hip Hop, Soul, and Funk by DJ 2‑Tone Jones. A mesmerizing audio-visual remix. Chris Pyrate’s DC → Tokyo Pavilion
As a headline feature, Chris Pyrate will debut Concrete Garden, his latest anime short, inside a custom-built pavilion inspired by both DC street art and Tokyo futurism.
- Pavilion Concept: A hybrid “gallery-cinema” installation that integrates streetwear, mural aesthetics, and animated storytelling. Walls function as canvases that shift under projection, surrounding audiences with the look and feel of stepping into a moving anime cityscape.
- Premiere Moment: Guests will experience the unveiling of Concrete Garden as a community event — framed by Pyrate’s own visual language that ties Washington, DC’s creative legacy to Tokyo’s pop cultural future.
